Who are our enemies?

Ok, God will not leave me alone about this so I am going to get it written down.
Quiet time this morning scripture was Psalms 59:16-17 NKJV But I will sing of Your power; Yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy in the morning; For you have been my defense And refuge in the day of my trouble. 17 To You, O my Strength I will sing praises; For God is my defense. My God of Mercy.

Me being me had to read the whole chapter and the following verse just kind of reached out and grabbed me. 10 My God of mercy shall come to meet me; God shall let me see my desire on my enemies.

Who are my enemies and what is my desire for them?
My enemies should be anyone that is not in a relationship with God. And you know that sounds so harsh, but it is so true. Anyone that is not working with or for God is working against Him.
So what is my desire for them? Well...in the flesh if it is someone that has hurt me, sic 'em God hurt them like they have hurt me. But when I set the flesh aside and look at it in the spirit, my desire should be that they come into a personal relationship with God through Christ Jesus. That God set them free so that they can sing the verses at the end of the chapter. My friend Brad taught me this and it is a lesson that I need to be reminded of on a daily basis.

Thank you Father.

Sallye,

Very true and very touching! I have a particular individual that I pray for regularly and in those prayers I sometimes actually struggle between telling God on them and wanting to say "sic em", but truly, my real prayer is that God would save them! Great post!

Sallye,

Thank you so much for that scripture and for your prayers! I remember from one of Beth Moore's studies, but I cannot exactly remember which one, that this scripture is called The Shema and has special significance to Jewish people. At the time, for the bible study, I had memorized it.

After our discussions the last couple of days, I had searched and found a book I wanted to get on being beautiful to God. Then tonight I remembered that my friend had given me a bag of books a couple of months ago when she cleaned out her closets. I had put it aside and never looked. Tonight I looked through it to see what might be in there, and that very book was in there. Plus some others on the same subject. I spent my whole evening reading!

Blessings,
Michelle

This enemies post is challenging for all. We are called to pray for them. Hard to do

Michelle,

Yes it is called the Shema pronounced shma sh like be quiet and ma like mama. Thats' as close as I can get, and is recited as part of the morning and evening prayers. It is truely beautiful when sung/recited in hebrew. The word Shema means hear.
Ok enough of the teaching lesson.
Have a wonderful weekend.
